He was predeceased by: his wife Connie Butter; his parents, Sherman Butter and Lucinda Butter; and his siblings, Bonnie Mizell, Eloice Bryan, Ruby Fletcher and Dewey "Pug" Butter.
He is survived by: his daughter Sandra Butter Rollins of LeCompte; his grandchildren, Angela Rollins Smith (Ernest) of Forest Hill and Jeff Rollins of Baton Rouge; and his great grandchild Ethan James Smith.
