He is survived by: his sons, John David Nelson (Basilia) of Kingwood, TX and William Thomas Nelson (Kristen) of Jasper, TX; and his sister Virgie Holloway (Falis) of Forest Hill. He is also survived by four grandsons; and three great grandsons.
