He was predeceased by: his parents, Stephen Miller, Sr. and Ruth Smith-Miller; his brothers, Cleveland and Louis; his sons, Stephen Miller, III, Terrance Perry (Lisa), Akeam Darensburg (Brandi) and DeRay Darensburg (Aryn); his siblings, Eugene Broome of Westmont, IL, Sterling Miller (Earlean), Hueston Miller (Joyce), Roger Miller (Cora), Joseph Miller (Betty) of Utica, Mississippi, Lucy Miller, Gracie Wilson of South Holland, IL, Emma Brown (Albert), Juanita Miller, Doris Kaigler (Robert), Josephine Bourgeois (Leroy) and Evelyn Rounds (Robert) of Brea, CA; his sister-in-law Ruth Miller of Hermanville, MS; and his aunts, Loretta Ware of Houston, TX and Fannie Smith of Jackson, MS.
