It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Vera Lea Brown Jones of Florien, Louisiana, who passed away on January 8, 2024, at the age of 97, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Gethren Brown and Ellie Brown (Plainview); her former husband Dee Stubbs; her husband Red Jones; her siblings, Glen Brown, Merle Brown and Jo-Ann Watkins; and her stepdaughter Lynette Matthews.
She is survived by: her nephews, DeWayne Watkins (Rita) of Anacoco, LA and David Watkins (Phyllis) of Benton, LA; her niece Debbie Cardenas (Luis) of Hornbeck, LA; her stepchildren, Shane R. Jones of Sulphur, LA, Sharon K. Terry of Hornbeck, LA and Imon W. Jones (Onita) of Florien, LA; and her brother-in-law Merwyn Watkins of Florien, LA. She is also survived by great nieces and nephews, family and friends.
