He was predeceased by: his father Ralph Matthews; his sister Laura Matthews O'Connor; and his niece Ashtin Jade Noel O'Connor. He is survived by: his wife Cissy Leach Matthews; his children, Caroline Matthews Chandler (Dustin) and Colby Matthews (Korie Kreps); his mother Linda Rutherford Matthews; his parents-in-law, Jimmy and Janis Leach; his brother Jim Brady; his sister-in-law Lisa Leach; and his friends, Clay Corley, Mark Green, Bradley Marr, Bobby McLain, Brian Miller and Tim Parker. He is also survived by extended family and friends.
He was completely healed of covid and went on to be with the Lord on October 3, 2021.
