He was predeceased by: his parents, Brad Evans and Blanche Byrd Evans; and his siblings, Emmanuel Evans, Sylvia Brown, Elva Cascio, Annie Cascio and Nina Arnold.
He is survived by: his son Johnny Bentley Evans; his close friend Mae Odom; and his sister Rose Fitzgerald. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
