He was predeceased by: his parents, James Vincent Powell and Grace S. Powell; and his brother William Monroe Powell. He is survived by: his wife Velda Powell of Florien, LA.; his siblings, Calton Powell (Carolyn) of Ocean Springs, MS and Adell Sills of Many, LA; his goddaughters, Deana Shelly (Ross) of Florien, LA., Heather Smith (Christopher) of Bentonville, Amanda Stokes (Jeff) of Edmond, OK. and Emily Powell (Sarah) of Queen Creek, AZ.; and his grandchildren, Maddie Marr, Sawyer Fitch, Daylyn Shelly, Saylor Fitch, Lyric Smith and Rylie Shelly.
