She was predeceased by: her son Carl Briggs, Jr.; her parents, Leon Smith and Una Carmouche Smith; and her siblings, Foster Smith, Bessie Laborde and Roberta Rodriguez.
She is survived by: her husband Louis Briggs; her children, Tony Briggs (Judy) of Bentley, Mark Briggs (Christina) of Plaucheville, Misty Descant (Tommy) of Fifth Ward and Shawna Briggs (Thomas Allain) of Baton Rouge; and her sister Jeanette Smith of Hessmer. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in memory of Ms. Leeanna Briggs to the American Cancer Society at P.O. Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741.
