He was predeceased by: his parents, Grace Collum Hodges and Russell Rueben Hodges; his siblings, Dale Hodges and Elizabeth Hodges Vaughn; and his wife Angeles Lagos Vilas Hodges.
He is survived by: his sister Libby; his former wife Ana Maria Garcia of Saltillo, Mexico.; his children, Russell Ruben Hodges II and David Urbano Hodges; and his brother Jack Hodges (Janet). He is also survived by numerous nephews and nieces.
His decades of work with the Foundation have helped to inspire public awareness of the importance of the preservation of the historical and architectural treasures of Louisiana.
