He was predeceased by: his parents, Wendell Powell and Odessa Morace Powell; his wife Frances Latham Powell; and his daughter Bonnie Blue Powell Matthews. He is survived by: his grandchildren, Keith Matthews of Natchez, MS and Elizabeth Matthews of Natchez, MS; his son-in-law Chris Matthews of Natchez, MS; his stepmother Darlene Powell of Ferriday, LA; his sisters, Wendolyn Powell Moon (Toby) of East Texas and Rhonda Powell Lewis (Brian) of Lake Concordia, LA; and his cousin Judy Riggs Hewitt. He is also survived by nephew, two nieces and a host of cousins.
