We are sad to announce that on December 27, 2024, at the age of 86, Owen Mize of Ferriday, Louisiana, born in Waterproof, Louisiana passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Guy Mize and Maxine Webb Mize; his brothers, Robert Mize, Johnny Mize and Ray Mize; his daughter Deborah Gossett; his nephews, Daniel Mize and John Wesley Mize; his niece Sharron Walker; and his sister Evelyn Mohon.
He is survived by: his children, Cindy Guzman of Natchez, MS and Larry Mize (Marci); his siblings, Richard Mize (Brenda) of Waterproof, LA, Ann Walker (George) of Waterproof, LA, Wanda Fife (Kenny) of Waterproof, LA, Darlene Sweat (Jerry) of Ferriday, LA and Becky Lee (Johnny) of Monterey, LA; his grandchildren, Heather Gossett, Alex Gossett, Derek Aucoin, Justin Guzman, Ashlyn Mize and Carleigh Mize; his great grandchildren, Alyssa Aucoin, Grayson Aucoin, Izzy Mize, Tristin Hollis and Abby Gail Gossett; and his great-uncle Winfred Mize (Amanda).
Visitation was held on Monday, December 30th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Young's Funeral Home (609 EE Wallace Boulevard, Ferriday, LA 71334). A funeral service was held on Monday, December 30th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
