He was predeceased by: his wife Gloria Martindale; his brother Kenneth Martindale; his father Robert Martindale; and his stepfather O. M. Frith. He is survived by: his children, Charles Martindale (Christy), Sharline Martindale, Becky Johnson (Jamie), Amy Wood (Rusty), Beth Price (Trey) and Jacob Dennis; his mother Dovie Frith; his siblings, Mike Martindale (Velma), Richard Martindale (Carol) and Cindy Barham (Wayman); and his stepbrother Don Frith. He is also survived by his eleven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; along with numerous nieces, nephews, a host of friends and other family members.
