He was predeceased by: his wife Lucille Laing; his parents, Marvin Laing, Sr. and Alma Vaughn Laing; and his son Jeffery Laing. He is survived by: his son Robert W. Laing (Roslyn); his stepchildren, Leon Whisenhunt, LaDonna Sandifer (James) and Larry Whisenhunt (Jackie); his grandchildren, Regina White, Tasha Manning (Dustin), Robert Laing, Jr. (Amanda), Destiny Laing, Tyler Laing, Lexie Laing, Lucy Sandifer, Wyatt Whisenhunt, LaRanda Whisenhunt and Jessica Whisenhunt; and his brother Jerry Laing (Linda). He is also survived by 19 great grandchildren.
