She was predeceased by: her parents, Melvin Burnside and Alice Roy Burnside; her husband C. O. Brown; and her sister Jeannie Bishop. She is survived by: her daughter April Smith (Claude); her grandchildren, Brittany Matthews, Brandy Hocevar, Jordan Hocevar, Kevin Smith and Charles Smith; her great grandchildren, Isabella Hinton, Isiah Stringfellow, Jarrell Smith, Nellie Smith and Alexandra Smith; her son-in-law Gene Mathews; and her siblings, Laverne McNeese, Nena McNeese, Bobby Burnside and Ronald Burnside. She is also survived by Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
