With heavy hearts, we announce the death of James R. Hays of Farmerville, Louisiana, born in Monroe, Louisiana, who passed away on August 19, 2023 at the age of 71. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Hays and Elodie Hays; his son James Russell Hays Jr.; his brother Harry Hays Jr.; and his brother-in-law Hugh Britt.
He is survived by: his wife Cindy Thompson Hays; his sons, Brandon Hays (Rebecca) and Josh Hays (Ashley); his grandchildren, Luke Hays, Connor Hays, Ella Hays, John Paul Hays and Audrey Hays; his sisters, Harriett Flanagan, Martha Guraedy (Richard), Mary Britt, Dorothy Tannehill (Benny) and Cynthia McGibboney; and his pet Tootsie. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to St Jude Children's Research Hospital.
