He was predeceased by: his parents, Sebe Monroe and Eula Blackmon Perkins; his stepdaughter Sylvia Caldwell; and his granddaughter Jennifer Smith. He is survived by: his wife Clara Platt Perkins; his children, Joel S. Perkins (Teresa), Bradley Adam Smith (Stephanie) and Charlie Smith (Kimberly); his siblings, Carol Holsing and W. E. Perkins (Betty); and his grandchildren, Mathew Perkins, Joshua Perkins, Caleb Smith, Paige Smith, Annistyn Smith, Laila Bearden, Brooklyn Hicks, Bryson Smith and Brok Smith.
