It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Delores Sue Merritt of Farmerville, Louisiana, born in Des Moines, Iowa, who passed away on August 12, 2023, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Raymond McElvogue and Georgia Shoop McElvogue; her husband Billy; her brother Ronald McElvogue; her father-in-law John Merritt (Ilene); and her brother-in-law Bob Westbrook (Ernestine).
She is survived by: her children, John Merritt (Michelle) of Anahuac, TX and Deborah Merritt of Beach City, TX; her brother Donald McElvogue (Denise) of Tyler, TX; her siblings-in-law, Jeanne McElvogue of Cold Springs, TX, Charles Merritt (Mary Ann) of Pearland, TX and Mike Merritt of El Dorado, AK; her grandchildren, Christopher Merritt of Anahuac, Katelynn Hennigan (Jacob) of Winnie, Aaron Nash (Emily) of Mont Belvieu and Trevor Nash of Anahuac, Texas; and her great grandchildren, Kalynn, Natalie, Josie Nash of Mont Belvieu, Brentlee and Logan Hennigan of Winnie, Texas. She is also survived by her numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
She was always charitable and willing to donate to any charity she saw on a commercial.
