She was predeceased by: her father Garland Rufus Simmons; and her son Devin Garland Edwards. She is survived by: her husband Melton Grey Edwards, Jr. of Farmerville, LA; her mother Shelvia Simmons; her sister Cathy Simmons of Newton, TX.; her children, Melton Grey Edwards III (Stephanie), Amy Edwards, Christopher Blake Edwards and Allison Lynn Edwards of Farmerville, LA; and her grandchildren, Kane, Hayden, Candon, Rubin, Ryder, Grier, Emilia and Roselynn.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude's Hospital in her name.
