He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Whitney Owens and Evelina Broussard Owens; his children, Steve Owens, Jr. (Heather Derouen) of Jeanerette, William Owens (Peggy Miguez) of New Iberia, Evelina Melancon (Ross) of Erath, Elnora Sonnier (Tony Thibodeaux) of Erath and Ashley LaFont (Ryan) of Jeanerette; his siblings, Whitney Owens, Jimmy Owens and Irene Guillotte; his goddaughter Donna Pellerin; his niece Jamie Buteau; and his grandchildren, Jessica Sonnier and Nicholas Frederick. He was also cherished by 13 grandchildren; one great-grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews.
