He was predeceased by: his parents, Blanch Buller Deshotel and Arcade Deshotel; his wife Syble Duplechian Deshotel; his sister Alice Deshotel Sonnier; and his brothers-in-law, Joseph Sonnier and Luther Lantz.
He is survived by: his daughter Madeline Deshotel Nelson (Alfred) of Kingwood, TX; his adoptive daughter Rita Gail Duplechian Kirkpatrick of Lake Charles; his grandchildren, Michael Dale Nelson (Lindsey) of Kingwood, TX, Rachel Sharon Nelson Gates (Paul) of Aurora, CO, Carsten, Case, Brody Nelson, Ruthie, Mariam and Esther Gates; his siblings, Calvin Deshotel (Telia) of Franklin and Loretta Lantz of Lake Charles; and also Rita Gail.
