He was predeceased by: his former wife Elsie Sylestine; his wife Ida Landry Sylestine; his granddaughter Della Landry Mancil; his parents, Edward Sylestine and Della Sylestine; and his brothers, Leroy Sylestine and Delson Sylestine.
He is survived by: his children, Anthony Gene Sylestine of Iota, Bernice Sylestine of Elton and Vickie Breaux (Alan) of Elton; and his sisters, Geraldine Reed of Elton and Susie Bond of Elton. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
