He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Leon, Sr. Hyatt and Ruth Chavanne Hyatt; his wife Elizabeth Ann Miller of Delhi; his children, Diane, Samuel, Frank and Marsha; his grandson-in-law Justin Barrett; his great grandchild Connor of Anna; his grandchildren, Justin Barrett, Daniel, Amber Hyatt and Jeremy Hyatt; and his great grandchildren, Michael, Drake and Allison.
As President of the Convention, he was also a member of the boards of Louisiana College, Louisiana Baptist Children's Home, Louisiana Baptist Foundation, Baptist Message, and four hospitals.
