He was predeceased by: his grandson Seth Trahan; his parents, William Trahan and Addie Hanks Trahan; and his brother Robert Trahan. He is survived by: his wife Genevieve Clement Trahan of Egan; his children, Sandra McFarlain (Terry) of Evangeline, Susan LaCombe (Kenneth) of Egan, Laura Faul (Mark) of Egan, Randy Trahan (Emma) of Crowley, Ricky Trahan (Enola) of Egan and Jake Trahan, II (Denise) of Egan; his brother Harvey Trahan of Walker; and his grandchildren, Tara Haney (Adam), Sarah Olimb (Lance), Emily McOlgan (Drew), Anna Brooke Stogner (Steven), Chris McFarlain, Eric McFarlain (Sumer), Rusty McFarlain, Travis Trahan (Liz), Nathan Trahan (April), Reese Trahan, Grayson LaCombe (Haylie), Josh LaCombe (Renee), Kyle LaCombe, Michael Trahan (Amanda), Jerratt Trahan, Jake Trahan, III (Hilary), Meredith Hebert (Layne) and Mallory Faul. He is also survived by 30 great-grandchildren.
