He was predeceased by: his parents, Josephine Plaisance McDonald and Ivy Noah McDonald Sr.; his wife Effie Kraemer; his son Craig McDonald; and his siblings, Lois Landry and Ivy "Dado" McDonald, Jr..
He is survived by: his daughter Connie McDonald Magee; his children-in-law, Wayne Magee and Dawn Schroder McDonald; his grandchildren, Michael Lester (Gabi Toth), Ivy McDonald (Justin Anderson) and Kaci McDonald Buwe (Joshua); his great grandchildren, Hunter Joseph Buwe and Wiley M. Spieler; his goddaughter Diane Ledet Spieler; his brother Ronald McDonald; his son Air Cooled Engines; and also Bradley Spieler (Catey Batte). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
