He was predeceased by: his parents, Herman Dunn and Ferral McCann Dunn; and his wife Nelda Woodson Dunn. He is survived by: his sisters, Una Lee Cammack, Mildred Huffman, Mary Ellen Paul and Janet Kennedy; and his children, Sherry Parker, Susan Cole, Mike and Meloney Dunn. He is also survived by his 13 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
