He was predeceased by: his parents, Silas Rainey, Sr. and Somoria Rainey of Edgard; his siblings, Catherine Rainey Johnson (Elihugh), Silas Rainey, Jr. (Esther), Paul Rainey, Wallace Rainey, Sr. and Dianne Rainey Vinnett; and his siblings-in-law, Arthur Allen, Felmon Bethancourt, Reuben "Terry" Vinnett, Richard Montgomery and Barbara Alexander Rainey.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Geason Rainey of Ama; his grandchildren, Lester "Ross" Rainey III, NiJyle DeMarco Rainey and Rhian Therial Rainey; his godchildren, Andrea Denise Bethancourt, Robbie Julien Wilson, Lloyd Champagne, Jr. and Iman Somoria Montgomery; his siblings, Rosalie Allen of New Orleans, Gloria Jean Bethancourt, Arthur Rainey (Lance Rainey, Sr.), Brenda Burke (Patricia Montgomery) and Vanessa Rainey LaGrange of Wallace, LA.; his siblings-in-law, Audrey Rainey of Edgard, Cynthia Rainey of Boutte, Morgan Burke, Sr. of Laplace, Wade Joseph and Patricia Rose of Marrero, LA.; and his children, Lester, Terrell "Chip" and Ryan. He is also survived by his grandchildren and godchildren as well as a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends.
