It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gilbert Lewis Sr. of Edgard, Louisiana, who passed away on March 6, 2025, at the age of 71, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Leo Paul and Elnora Louis; his siblings, Joseph, Issac, Llyod, Felma, Myrtle, Bertha and Donna Lumar; and his siblings-in-law, Geraldine, Patricia, Mary Lee, Walter Lumar and Walter Ross, Jr..
He is survived by: his children, Gilbert Jr., Ireyonna, Gerard and La'Keriyon; his close friend Brenda; his stepdaughter Sheretta; his grandchildren, Janaya, Ja'Naria, Ja'Neijza, Dy'Ivry, Derrick Jr., J'Kae, Jeremy, Hayley, Skylar, Legacie, Graison and Lylah; and his siblings, Wilson (Gloria), Lovenia Ross, Rosetta, James (Francis), Norman, Soloman and Delores (Thomas).
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 21st 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Saturday, March 22nd 2025 from 8:00 AM to 9:30 AM. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 22nd 2025 at 9:30 AM at the New Wine Christian Fellowship (1929 W Airline Hwy, Laplace, LA 70068). A burial will be held on Saturday, March 22nd 2025 at the St. Peters Baptist Church (200 W 3rd St, Edgard, LA 70049).
