It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gilbert Lewis Sr. of Edgard, Louisiana, who passed away on March 6, 2025, at the age of 71, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Leo Paul and Elnora Louis; his siblings, Joseph, Issac, Llyod, Felma, Myrtle, Bertha and Donna Lumar; and his siblings-in-law, Geraldine, Patricia, Mary Lee, Walter Lumar and Walter Ross, Jr..

He is survived by: his children, Gilbert Jr., Ireyonna, Gerard and La'Keriyon; his close friend Brenda; his stepdaughter Sheretta; his grandchildren, Janaya, Ja'Naria, Ja'Neijza, Dy'Ivry, Derrick Jr., J'Kae, Jeremy, Hayley, Skylar, Legacie, Graison and Lylah; and his siblings, Wilson (Gloria), Lovenia Ross, Rosetta, James (Francis), Norman, Soloman and Delores (Thomas).
