He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Mildred Smith and Alzeria Valentine Jr. Byron; his son Byron Anthony Smith Jr. (BJ); his sister Deyon Benjamin; his wife Valerie Lewis Smith; his siblings, Debra Howard (Bernard), Bonnie Grows (Kevin), Ricky Sr. and Glenn Sr. Valentine (Cindy); his daughter Teommi Davenport (David); his stepdaughter Haili Harris Sr. (DeShune); his grandchildren, Jarrien, Ava Smith, Gia Metz, DeShune Jr., Nylan, Da'Nyrie Harris, Ayden Williams and J'Kyren Morris; his daughter-in-law Felicia Smith; his nieces and nephews, Asantra Mollaire Sr. (Clarence), Rayon Smith (Hasan), Amber Howard, Janiah Jones, Damond Smith, Levar, Laron Goudia and Trevor Smith; his great-nephew Emmette Boudreaux III; his great-nieces, Kerrione Williams and Zuri Goudia; his uncle Shelton Valentine Sr. (Brenda); his friends, Gregory Joseph, Jerome Lumar and Thomas Bailey; and his cousins, Christina Barnes and Trina Smith.
