She was predeceased by: her parents, Timothy Higdon and Alma Adams Higdon; her former husband Jules Harris; and her stepchildren, David Chatman (Ella Rose) of Goudeau, Bobby Carter (Bessie) of Big Cane, Waneita Stelly, Dalton Ford Carter, Jr. of Centerville, Elwood Carter (Susie) of Garden City and Jane McGlone (Robert) of Big Cane.
She is survived by: her husband Dalton F. Carter of Dupont. She is also survived by numerous step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
