He was predeceased by: his parents, Maggie Thompson and Wilson C. Denton; and his siblings, Joyce Denton Bagwell, Beth Denton Newman, Ann Denton Andrews and Don Denton.
He is survived by: his friend Dave; his wife Donna Denton; his children, Lisa Denton Newton (Jim), Chris Denton, Atonya Denton and David Denton (Trina); his grandchildren, Samantha Jo Zimmerman (Jared), Michael Newton, Christopher Denton (Alexsis), Meghan Newton, Austin Denton, Haley Denton and Wyatt Denton; his great grandchildren, Alex, Aeryn and Lola-Mae; his siblings, Dan Denton (Barbara Jo), Gary Denton (Margaret) and Marjorie Huey (Randel); his cousin Larry Barnett; his siblings-in-law, Sue Denton, Billy Bagwell, Ginger Hagewood (Gene), Bobbie Jordan (Angie) and Jay Jordan (Jill); and his mother-in-law Yvonne Jordan.
Dave Denton truly loved the meals served by the ladies at First Baptist so in lieu of flowers he asked that money be donated to the First Baptist Church building fund to help build the new kitchen.
