He was predeceased by: his parents, Melvin Barfield and Honrie Barfield; his brothers, Ray Barfield and Wayne (Pricilla Barfield); and his niece Sherri Barfield Ferrel.
He is survived by: his wife Sallie Owen Barfield; his children, Kammie Barfield, Russell (Sue Barfield) and Wanda (Daryl Sullivan); his grandchildren, Garrett and Caroline Barfield; his child Brook Ovitt; his great grandchild Weston Meeks; his sister Jean Clement; and his sister-in-law Ruth Barfield.
