He was predeceased by: his parents, Nell Hinton Henry and James Ladell Atkins; his brother James Ladell Atkins Jr.; and his brother-in-law William Dennis. He is survived by: his siblings, Linda Blakley Stricko (Al Stricko), Elizabeth "Sissy" Atkins Dennis, Wanda Atkins Rowell (Tex Rowell), Rose Atkins Sims (Doug Sims) and Tommy Henry (Lisa Henry); and his grandchild Kourtnie Kern. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of extended family and friends.
