He was predeceased by: his parents, Freddie Mansfield and Willie Lee Spurlock Powell; his siblings, Marie Daniels, Earline Sparkman, Bertha Mae Powell and Fred; and his sons, Powell, Jr., Jack Taft "Snooks" Powell, Dempsey Powell and Elroy "PeeWee" Powell.
He is survived by: his wife Maudie McFarland Powell; his stepchildren, Lee Martin and Krista Tanner (Wayne); his brother Pete Powell (Elsie); and his grandchildren, Kile Martin, Maggie Martin, Dale Martin, Katie Tanner and Madison Tanner. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and family.
