He was predeceased by: his wife Anabel Schexnayder Torres; his children, Lloyd Torres and Annabell Wood; his great grandchild Micah Michaud; his parents, Otis Torres and Helen Torres; and his siblings, Hilda Lasseigne, Cesaire Chaumont, Pearl Levet, Clara Waguespack, Roy Torres Sr., Joseph Torres Sr. and Roland Torres.

He is survived by: his children, Shirley Usey, Karen Hernandez (Tracy) and Herman Torres Jr. (Michelle); his son-in-law James Wood Jr.; and his sisters, Mildred Simon and Helen Torres. He is also survived by ten grandchildren, several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
