She was predeceased by: her parents, Gus Tyler and Ophelia Taylor Lewis; her daughter Linda Turner; her brother Wessie Lewis, Jr.; and her grandchildren, Cheavette Lewis and Traymka Fernandez.

She is survived by: her children, Peter Fernandez (Reyelnora), Joseph Fernandez (Nicole), Betty Sims (Percy), Janet Watson and Sandra White; and her siblings, Isaiah Lewis, Kenny Lewis and Bernadine Lewis. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; 11 great-great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
