He is survived by: his sons, Mark R. Carter (Ira) of Korea, Thomas Jr. (Frances) of Philadelphia, PA. and Edward William Carter of Philadelphia, PA.; his close friend Judy Woodard of Ruston; his sisters, Joyce Bordelon of Alexandria, Jane Anderson of Shreveport, JoAnn Hoffmann of Dallas, TX. and Deloris McDaniel of Deville; his grandchildren, Monika, Sonja, Erika, Thomas, Justin, Kayla, Tristan, Edward, Madison, Aiden and Alexa; and his great grandchildren, Kash, Krue and Kenlee. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
