She was predeceased by: her parents, Al Townsend and Mary Coker Townsend; her husband Vernon Lee Smart; her daughter Jenny Olivia Smart; and her sister Vertie Marie Edwards.
She is survived by: her daughter Teresa Adkinson (Kevin) of Deville, LA; her grandchildren, Lee Whittington (Rebekah) of Deville, LA, Kaitlyn Brunson (Cody) of Bentley, LA and Emily Whittington of Deville, LA; her stepgranddaughters, Brittney Deloach (Jonathan) of Pollock, LA, Morgan Cole of Pollock, LA and Megan Lawrence (Christian) of West Monroe, LA; her siblings, Gene Townsend (Melba) of Logansport, LA, James Townsend of Sicily Island and Rena Fulford (Marvin) of Winnsboro, LA; and her nephews, Toney Edwards, David Edwards, Clint Townsend, Bubba Townsend, Shane Townsend, James Townsend, Raymond Nugent and Ashley Poole. She is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
