He is survived by: his wife Darlene Normand Thompson; his son John Robert Thompson III; his stepsons, Jerry Lee Brumley, Jr. (Kim) and Jamie Michael Wiley; and his siblings, Gary Thompson (Brenda), Cynthia Thompson and Darlene Conway (Joe). He is also survived by eight grandchildren; six great grandchildren, and numerous other family members and friends.
