It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joel Paul Hymel of Destrehan, Louisiana, born in New Orleans, Louisiana, who passed away on October 11, 2024, at the age of 67, leaving to mourn family and friends. In the echoes of fond remembrance, may a sense of peace be found, knowing that the memories held dear will continue to shape and inspire his loved ones, keeping Joel Paul's spirit alive in the hearts and actions of family and friends alike. While his presence may be gone, his impact lives on in the kindness shown to others and the joy found in the ordinary moments of life.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Pearl Roussel Hymel and Harold Hubert Hymel; and his sibling Glynn Hymel. He is survived by: his spouse Lynn Albanese Hymel; his children, Jaime Lynn Hymel, Jennifer Hymel Richardson and Morgan Jennifer Hymel; his grandchildren, Colin Neil Reed Richardson, Kailen Rebecca Schayot and Lorelei Adele Richardson; and his siblings, Randall Hymel and Cheryl Hymel Parellada. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Monday, October 21st 2024 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the L. A. Muhleisen & Son Funeral Home (2607 Williams Blvd, Kenner, LA 70062). A memorial service will be held on Monday, October 21st 2024 at 11:00 AM at the L. A. Muhleisen and Son Funeral Home (2607 Williams Blvd, Kenner, LA 70062).
