He was predeceased by: his parents, Anne Bruning (Laurey) and Fred Bruning. He is survived by: his wife Susanna Bruning; his children, Eric Bruning (Alice Day), Chad Bruning (Sara) and Stephanie Young (Brad); his sister Ann Bruning (Jim Stark); and his grandchildren, Coralyn Young, Braeden Young, Stephen Bruning and Femke Bruning. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude of Memphis, TN, or Hope Hospice Bayou Country of LA.
