He is survived by: his wife Renee Cole Cain; his children, Melissa Cain Milnor, Hon. Judge James D. Cain, Jr. (Angie), Angela and Joe Guglielmo (Stephanie); his granddaughters, Juliana and Haley; his children, Amanda Milnor and Austin Guglielmo; and his brothers, Alton J. Cain, Jr. and Burl Cain (Jonalyn). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Dry Creek Baptist Camp or the McNeese Foundation.
