He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Markham and Eva Markham (Lucas). He is survived by: his wife Catherine Markham (Katie); his children, Terry Honea (Gary) and Alan Markham (Linda); his granddaughters, Belynda Finley (Shawn) and Amber Vander; his great grandchildren, Trayvin Manuel, Tara Vander, Coleman Finley and Lillian Finley; his son John J. Markham Jr.; and his grandson Gary Honea (Mann).
Visitation was held on Sunday, October 13th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Monday, October 14th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Friendship Baptist Church (1300 LA-26, DeRidder, LA 70634). A funeral service was held on Monday, October 14th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location. The military honors was held on Monday, October 14th 2024 at 1:30 PM at the Central Louisiana Veterans Cemetery (3348 University Pkwy, Leesville, LA 71446).
In lieu of flowers, the family ask to make donations to either the Disabled American Veterans or the Wounded Warrior Project.
