He is survived by: his wife Catherine Markham (Katie); his children, Terry Honea (Gary) and Alan Markham (Linda); his granddaughters, Belynda Finley (Shawn) and Amber Vander; his great grandchildren, Trayvin Manuel, Tara Vander, Coleman Finley and Lillian Finley; his son John J. Markham Jr.; and his grandson Gary Honea (Mann).

In lieu of flowers, the family ask to make donations to either the Disabled American Veterans or the Wounded Warrior Project.
