He was predeceased by: his parents, Marshall "J. B." Cooley and Ermel Vuel Cooley; and his siblings, Rev Clyde "Junior" Cooley and Aulina Cooley Bellando. He is survived by: his wife Carollyn Cooley; and his children, Randy Cooley, Dona Breen, Edward Thompson, Brent Cooley, Richard Thompson, Doug Cooley, Carol Haddon and Sabrina Cooley. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

Viewing was held on Thursday, October 17th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Myers Colonial Funeral Home (3178 US-190, DeRidder, LA 70634). A funeral service was held on Thursday, October 17th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
