It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dorothy Hines of Deridder, Louisiana, born in Dry Creek, Louisiana, who passed away on June 1, 2024, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Leo Ladner and Winnie Prather Ladner; her husband Bruce Hines; and her siblings, Freddy Ladner and Louise Woods.

She is survived by: her children, Barney Sammons (Juanita) of Many, Steve Sammons (Sharon) of DeRidder, Shelby Sammons of Hineston and Penny Hunnicutt (Tim) of DeRidder; her sisters, Bertha Bailey of DeRidder and Marjorie Cole of DeRidder; and her grandchildren, Brent Sammons (Sandy), Greg Sammons (Presley), Doug Sammons (Amber), Erika Cooper and Shelby Cooper. She is also survived by six great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
