Barbara Martin Dowden Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Barbara Martin Dowden (Deridder, Louisiana), who passed away on January 8, 2025 at the age of 89. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Osa Martin and Velma Martin; her children, Russell and Christine Dowden; and her husband Amon Dowden Jr..
She is survived by: her daughter Janet L'Hoste (Stephen); her grandchildren, Jessica Williamson (Brian), Michael L'Hoste (Sarah) and Amy L'Hoste; her great grandchildren, Natalie, Parker and Gabriel L'Hoste; and her brother Dorman Martin. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, January 14th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Wednesday, January 15th 2025 at 9:00 AM at the First Baptist Church of Gillis, La. A funeral service was held on Wednesday, January 15th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the First Baptist Church of Gillis (678 Topsy Rd, Lake Charles, LA 70611).
In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to Kisatchie Cemetery Association, 343 Bill Gilbert Rd., Ragley, LA 70657 in honor of Barbara Dowden.
