It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Alvin Reed of Deridder, Louisiana, born in Mamou, Louisiana, who passed away on March 18, 2024, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Noah Reed and Mersie Fontenot Reed; his siblings, Evelyn Olivier, Merline Granger and Ricky Reed; and his son-in-law Steve Reeves.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Reed of DeRidder; his children, Reginald Reed (Susan) of DeRidder, Durrel Reeves of DeRidder and Mechelle Farmer (Jeff) of Dry Creek; his grandchildren, Caitlyn Reed of DeRidder, Quinton Reed of DeRidder, Hayden Farmer of Dry Creek, Rylan Reeves of DeRidder and Camryn Reeves of DeRidder; and his brother Norlen Reed (Glenda) of Simsboro.
