He is survived by : his significant other Becky Thompson; his grandson Dane Thompson; his siblings, Toni Wilson, Shane Rose and Chris Lanthier; his parents, Pearl Goode Thompson of Singer and Johnny M. Thompson (Lisa); his parents-in-law, Stanley and Sue Smith; and his cousin Jill Thompson. He is also survived by numerous loving cousins, family members, close friends.

“I worked with Ty at Hackberry Louisiana for a couple of years. Me and his son worked as millwrights together. I was soon introduced to Ty who always had a smile on his face. Always treated me and the others around him with respect. I just recently had the pleasure of going to the Golden Pass job and see him again after a couple of years and just like that he was the same guy I remembered sharp wit and a smile.
