He was predeceased by: his parents, James Speight and Elizabeth Speight; his grandson Seth Speight; and his brother Michael Speight. He is survived by: his wife Donnie Speight; and his children, Tammy LaCaze (Keith) of DeRidder, Melanie Speight of Portland, Stephen Speight, Jr. of Portland, Patrica Broussard (Gary) of Westlake and Wanda Hines of DeQuincy. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
