He was predeceased by: his former wives, Loretta Foster Carlin and Joyce Royer Carlin; his children, Ricky Carlin and Linda Gilley LeBouef; his granddaughter Sheryl Schexnider; his great grandchild Layken Schexnider; his parents, George Raliegh Carlin and Ida Ulan Carlin Thompson; and his siblings, Clada Carlin Broussard, Bill Carlin, Marguerite Carlin Brown, Janet Carlin Fernandez and Georgiana Carlin Norwood.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara "Bobbie" Carlin; and his children, Margie Schexnider, Jeanette Gilley Maddox (Larry), Randy Carlin (Marlena), Kathie Carlin Trahan (Roger), Brenda Ann Carlin, Thad Carlin (Lawree) and Carla Cooley (Johnny). He is also survived by 28 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren, 14 great-great grandchildren.
