With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Verna Mae Andrews (Denham Springs, Louisiana), born in Gonzales, Louisiana, who passed away on February 19, 2025 at the age of 91. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid Verna Mae farewell, let us not mourn the absence of her physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of her spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Verna Mae is not truly gone, but merely transformed, her energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
She was predeceased by: her children, Sandra Honea and Steve Andrews; her granddaughter Christine Andrews; and her children-in-law, Richard Dunaway, Wayne Honea and Angie Andrews.
She is survived by: her children, Cathy Cedotal (Jeff), Tanya Palazzo (Mike), Johnnie L. Andrews Jr. (Tessie) and Kenney Andrews; and her friend Maynell Abbot. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, 9 great-great- grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 24th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Gray's Creek Baptist Church (21039 LA-16, Denham Springs, LA 70726). A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 24th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Monday, February 24th 2025 at the Felder Cemetery.
